  • Free 20-30 Minute Phone/Video Consultation: As you take the courageous step to begin therapy, it is important to feel comfortable with the provider and knowledgeable of their approach to therapy. Connecting over the phone prior to your first session can provide a helpful opportunity to ask questions, discuss what brings you to therapy, as well as explore if it feels like a good therapeutic “fit.” You’re invited to schedule an initial phone consultation by clicking the “Schedule Phone Consult” tab below.

Initial Intake Session: Whether meeting virtually or in person, your first therapy session is known as an Initial Intake. During this session we will discuss expectations for therapy, review confidentiality, explore background information, as well as identify goals you’d like to work on together. This initial session will help lay the foundation of our therapeutic focus. An initial intake session is typically 60 minutes.

Regular sessions: Regular sessions are typically 55 minutes. If possible, it is recommended to initially meet on a weekly basis to be able to establish a comfortable and effective routine. During regular sessions, we will process things that come up between sessions, as well as continue to work on your overall goals that support your health and healing.

Completing Therapy: The duration of therapy depends on many things. For some, therapy is on-going to help maintain support and stability throughout life’s transitions. For others, therapy can be short-term and focused on achieving specific goals or solutions. It can be helpful to discuss expectations for the duration of therapy as we build the therapeutic foundation and direction.
